Devoid of honorable intentions

The ongoing removal of statues — Lee in Richmond today, for example, which stood for 131 years — aren’t about dealing with “painful reminders” of anything. It’s predicated upon sending a message that’s far more ominous: “You’re next.”

That has always been the objective of this abominable movement. I hope the day comes in which we finally do away with our indifference, or fear of being labeled, and treat this with the attention it deserves.

Whether some of us realize it or not, we are officially in for the fight of our lives.
