Last night the Department of Defense released this photo of Major General Chris Donahue, commander of the 82nd Airborne Division, XVIII Airborne Corps.

Officially he is the last soldier to leave Afghanistan among the 775,000 Americans who served throughout a 20-year occupation that evidently accomplished very little, which is thanks entirely to the outright indolence of bureaucrats, both elected and appointed, on Capitol Hill.
