The 20,000-seat Pyramid Arena in downtown Memphis opened in November 1991.

Sporting events switched to the better designed FedEx Forum in 2004. The last concert was performed at The Pyramid in 2007, whereby the building sat dormant until April 2015 when Bass Pro Shops re-opened it as a superstore that included a hotel, restaurants, a bowling alley, an archery range, and an observation deck that overlooks the Mississippi River.
