Saddam Hussein predicted the “mother of all battles” would ensue when Operation Desert Storm commenced 30 years ago today.

The American-led coalition decimated Iraqi forces in four days.

By the time you see them – if you see them – it’s too late.

It’s the last conflict that was never politicized. We may never see unity like this again.

The Tomcat made its presence known.

Morale was high. I remember it well.

Saddam never had a chance.

They were rightfully greeted as liberators, not merely conquerors. These were good days.
