Blast from the not-so-distant past

Facebook reminded me of a post from two years ago today:

“Kiss recently embarked on a farewell tour, their third if I’m not mistaken.

“As a kid growing up during a golden age of Rock, bands like AC/DC, Rush, Motley Crue, Van Halen, and the aforementioned Kiss, were frequently heard blasting from the bedroom window of every teenage guy in my neighborhood.

“They’ll make a final stop here in Memphis at the Forum on Saturday. A group of us want to go but it won’t be cheap. Always the capitalists, Gene and Paul are charging top dollar for the seats we want—about $350 each (on the floor) for about 90 ear-splitting minutes.

“Could be worth it, if only to bid a final farewell to our adolescence. We’ll see.”

Didn’t end up going.
