Highlighted by wins over Texas, LSU and Georgia Tech, Ole Miss went 8-5 during Hugh Freeze’s second season as head coach in 2013 when this picture was taken.

In typical Ole Miss fashion, recruiting and academic violations resulted in the NCAA forcibly vacating seven of those wins in 2016, and Freeze himself was shown the door soon after when school officials discovered he had used a university cellphone to call escort services multiple times during his tenure.

I specifically remember telling an acquaintance that Ole Miss was “overdue” for another scandal — and sho’ nuff, mere weeks later, as if they had heard me speak those very words, the Oxford faithful came through.

But at least they’ll always have The Grove… unless the activist SJWs are allowed to culturally appropriate that too.
