I want to laugh, but this isn’t funny. Trump wasn’t an unassailable orator of the public consciousness by any means, but he didn’t repeatedly exhibit signs of dementia either.

I really hope, for the sake of the country that we have to share with the advocates of such people, that this isn’t a sign of things to come.

Edit, July 2024: Turns out it was definitely and absolutely a sign of things to come, but Biden has been forced out and Harris, tragically enough, is in. I lack the adequate words at this point.
