Prime Time

Deion Sanders was a multi-sport athlete at Florida State where he was a two-time All-American in football, primarily as a defensive back. He was drafted by Atlanta in the first round of the 1989 NFL draft (fifth overall), eventually playing 14 decorated seasons with five teams en route to Hall of Fame enshrinement in 2011.

Amazingly, Sanders also had a part-time baseball career in which he played nine seasons with four MLB teams, finishing with a respectable .263 batting average. He remains the only man to hit a Major League home run and score an NFL touchdown in the same week. Sanders is also the only man to play in both a World Series and a Super Bowl.

I was annoyed by Sanders when he played for the Falcons, loved him for the one season he spent with the 49ers, and was steadfastly opposed to his very existence during his time with the Cowboys. Fandom is a fickle mistress.
