Soldiers from Echo Company, 2nd battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st “Screaming Eagles” Airborne Division enjoy some beverages atop Hitler’s private residence in the Bavarian Alps in April 1945 as the Second World War drew to a close.

Their heroics were featured in the 2001 HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, which was based on a book of the same name by Stephen Ambrose.
